Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II Quiz Certificate in just 3 Steps

Free Certificate in just 3 Steps :- Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase II Quiz

About Quiz

To accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage, Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on 2nd October 2014. Under the mission, all villages, Gram Panchayats, Districts, States and Union Territories in India declared themselves “open-defecation free” (ODF) by 2 October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing over 100 million toilets in rural India. To ensure that the open defecation free behaviour are sustained, no one is left behind, and that solid and liquid waste management facilities are accessible, the Mission is moving towards the next Phase II of SBMG i.e. ODF-Plus.

ODF Plus activities under Phase II of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) will reinforce ODF behaviours and focus on ODF sustainability and providing interventions for the safe management of solid and liquid waste in villages i.e. to convert the villages from ODF to ODF Plus by 2024-25.

There is a huge scope and greater need for creating mass awareness on various components of ODF Plus among the common masses and students. The Quiz competition is designed to instil among the masses an awareness and understanding of Sanitation and SBM-G Phase II, its importance in triggering behavior change and desirable actions and practices for promoting ODF Plus.

The objectives are

1) create awareness regarding Sanitation and SBM-G Phase II.

2) develop understanding about the various aspects of sanitation, challenges and possible solutions.

3) Instil a sense of cleanliness.

Noida Supertech Twin Towers Demolition- Health Challenges

Health challenges will increase after the collapse of Supertech tower, take these precautions

A cloud of dust will rise as soon as the twin towers of Supertech i.e. Apex and Cyan Towers are demolished. Due to this air pollution can increase up to five times. Due to this, people will have to face health problems for the next 7 to 90 days.

The court also slammed the Noida authority for colluding with the builder to pave the way for illegal construction of 40-storey towers in violation of municipal and fire safety norms. The Court held that the 2009 clearance plan approved by the Noida Authority was illegal as it violated the minimum distance norms and that the plan could not have been sanctioned even without the consent of the flat buyers.

This decision has come today on several petitions filed by home buyers in favor and against the High Court's 2014 decision. On 11 April 2014, the Allahabad High Court ordered the demolition of both the buildings and refund of the money to the flat buyers within four months. The Supreme Court had stayed the decision after the real estate firm went on appeal.

The Supreme Court on August 4 slammed the Noida authority for "staggering use of power" in approving two residential towers of real estate developer Supertech in a green area and then blocking the right to information regarding the building plan. It had reserved its decision on the petitions requested by the flat buyers.

Can learn from the past
After the demolition of four towers Holy Faith H20, Alpha Sirene, Jain Coral Cove and Golden Kayaloram in Kochi and Maradu in Kerala in January 2020, people in the neighborhood had health problems for months. In this, people were troubled for several weeks due to headache, asthma, attacks, colds, phlegm and allergies.
75,000 tonnes of debris came out due to the fall of all the four towers. It took more than 70 days to remove it. After the demolition of the tower, the air pollution in the atmosphere had increased up to five times. Due to this the health of the people around was deteriorating.

During this, the administration had to organize a health camp. After the demolition of the tower, dust had accumulated on the empty space including the surrounding house, tree, wall, park. Dust used to enter people's houses even when there was a slight breeze.

Dr. D.K.Gupta  Chairman, Felix Hospital. Gupta says that during the tower demolition process, people may have to face problems due to noise pollution and air pollution in the area of 10 to 15 km, but this problem will increase immediately after the collapse of the tower.
2.5 lakh tonnes of debris will come out of Apex and Cyan

After the demolition, 2.5 lakh tonnes of debris is estimated to be removed from Apex and Cyan Towers. Due to the demolition, the dust plume is expected to rise to a height of about 150 meters. To control this, water tender with automatic water sprinkler will be present. Whereas, how far the dust storm will go, it will depend on the speed of the wind.
Emerald Court Society and ATS Village Society will be most affected by this. Due to this, people suffering from respiratory diseases need to take special precautions.

Take precaution, take doctor's advice

Due to dust particles and sudden large air pollution ( Occupational Health Hazards ), people can get the following diseases
1 - Headache
2- Problems in the eyes (burning, reddening, itching problem)
3 - Chronic bronchitis
4 - Skin Rashes
5 - runny nose, sore throat
6- The problem of phlegm
7- Asthma attacks
8- Increased blood pressure
9- Mental stress
10 - Early liver pain, premature delivery to pregnant women
12 - May cause diseases like allergic sinusitis

How to protect own self and your loved one ?
1 - wear a mask
2- Stay away from the surrounding area for some time
3 - Use air purifiers in homes
4 - Refrain from going out
5- Take medicine regularly (who are taking medicine for any disease)
6 - Use skin moisturizer
7- Use goggles to protect the eyes
8 - If there is irritation in the skin or eyes, immediately consult a doctor.

Important tips for nearby residents -
1. Keep your doors and windows closed at the time of demolition (2:30 pm).
2. You can plan to cover your AC unit.
3. You can plan to cover your vehicles, especially those parked in open parking.
4. Preferably turn off your AC until the dust settles just after the explosion.
5. Avoid going out of your flat/society for that period.
6. If you have to go out for some work, see the traffic advisory (attached).
7. Remove clothes etc. from balconies.
8. Cover the exhaust of the chimney.
9. Wear a mask to avoid shortness of breath during and after demolition
10. Last but most important, please do not panic and keep your patience in any situation.

Free Onchocerciasis: training of health workers at national and district levels on skin-NTDs

Onchocerciasis has been included as part of the skin-neglected tropical diseases in the NTD road map 2021-2030 launched by WHO in 2020. Onchocerciasis is transmitted to humans through exposure to repeated bites of infected blackflies of the genus Simulium. More than 99% of infected people live in 31 African countries. The disease also exists in some foci in two countries in Latin America (the Yanomani area in Brazil and Venezuela) and Yemen. The Global Burden of Disease Study estimated in 2017 that at least 220 million people required preventive chemotherapy against Onchocerciasis, 14.6 million of the infected people already had skin disease and 1.15 million had vision loss Population-based treatment with ivermectin (also known as mass drug administration or MDA) is the current core strategy to eliminate onchocerciasis, with a minimum requirement of 80% therapeutic coverage. Four countries have been verified by WHO as free of onchocerciasis after successfully implementing elimination activities for decades: Colombia (2013), Ecuador (2014), Mexico (2015), and Guatemala (2016). Globally 1.8 million people live in areas that no longer require mass drug administration for onchocerciasis.

The course includes background information on skin-NTDs, epidemiology of onchocerciasis, pathogenesis and clinical pathology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, socioeconomic impact, and public health interventions.

Free Monkeypox: Introductory course for African outbreak contexts

The content and scope of this course on monkeypox have been tailored for outbreaks in African countries where the disease is endemic. The course material was last updated in 2020 and may not reflect most recent WHO guidance issued for the multi-country outbreak in 2022.

Overview: Monkeypox virus is an orthopoxvirus that causes human monkeypox, a viral disease with symptoms similar to smallpox, including fever and rash. Following the worldwide eradication of smallpox in 1980, monkeypox emerged as the most significant orthopoxvirus infection in humans. Cases are most often reported from rural areas of Central and West African countries, particularly in regions close to tropical rainforest where people may have contact with infected animals. Someone can become infected through direct contact with respiratory droplets of another person who has monkeypox in the home or in a health facility, or with contaminated materials such as bedding. Although these are the main modes of person-to-person transmission, monkeypox outbreaks tend to occur in small clusters of a few cases without leading to widespread community transmission. For this reason, outbreaks can be easily controlled when responded to rapidly. On several occasions, monkeypox has been reported in other regions due to importation by travelers or infected animals. This course provides a general introduction to the disease through a video and accompanying downloadable presentation that can be reviewed at your own pace. It is intended for health personnel responsible for prevention and control of monkeypox, and for the general public.
Learning objectives: By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

understand the emergence of monkeypox;
describe routes of transmission;
list signs and symptoms;
clinically identify monkeypox, chickenpox, and measles;
describe laboratory specimens and tests; and
discuss prevention and control strategies.
Course duration: Approximately 1 hour.

Certificates: Participants can gain a Record of Achievement by scoring 80% and over on the course assessment. Participants who receive a Record of Achievement can also download an Open Badge for this course.
